Matts Mullti-coloured Mayhem **DNF**
Matts Mullti-coloured Mayhem **DNF**
I'm entering with the original Alpha Jet, and a repop Hawker Fury (and anything else I get time for...) I'm struggling a bit for time this week so I'll be making a proper start at the weekend.

Cheers Fred - You can never have to many Alpha Jets !fredk wrote:Anytime that suits you is fine

This Alpha Jet is hopefully SMW2017 bound all going to plan.
I'm aiming to build it as a prototype mock up by colouring inside the canopy and using the German decals.
I have 4 potentials that are ready to go as complete. What's very annoying is I have a good stash of other MB stuff but I've 'safely' stored my MB decals I cant find them yet!
Re: Matts Mullti-coloured Mayhem
Made a start tonight with the Alphajet which I intend to build as a model of a model (or full size mock-up) prototype type thing. This is intended for display at Telford SMW 2017.
I'm not fitting anything in the cockpit as I'm going to paint the canopy fully as you see on some mock-ups.
Whilst I'm waiting for cement to dry on the Alphajet I am gearing up to make a start on the Fury.
For the Fury I'm aiming for the opposite to the Alphajet cockpit and add some detail as it is well, a bit bare!

The Alphjet fuselage is now together and still being heavily sanded...
You may notice the nose is a different shade - this is due to me loosing the original nose cone and having to use my spare later kit I found a few years ago in a charity shop!
I've started prepping parts for the Fury - will be posting pictures over the next few days...

Looking good MDT.
I see you got your Fury in a Modelzone sale like I did!
Mine was £1.50 if I remember right and the last one.

Re: Matts Mullti-coloured Mayhem
The Hellcat has been ready for painting since last week -
Thanks to all hands on deck for Storm Doris things have been way out of schedule as I've done some heavy shifts at work. However today at least I got my airbrush set up. Unfortunately I've only had time to put a couple of coats of Sky on the Hellcat (did a thin top coat of it as a primer), and
I've a heavy work schedule this week so things are looking tight!

I managed to get some airbrushing done this morning and this is where I got to with the Hellcat -
I'm not likely to get much more done this week but this is a possible for the display at SMW 2017 so I'll try and get it finished soon.
The Alphajet is a nightmare as after spraying it with Humbrol white primer it reacted and 'orange-peeled'. I'll be sanding it down when I have the patience!
