The teachings going great, I had a small group who are keen which is what you want on short five day courses. The course material I have been given is good quality and meets the awarding bodies standards.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Good progress today, the undercarriages are assembled and ready for a lick of black paint so with the kind extension OT has granted I should be able to get the decals on and the model finished by midnight Sunday minus the weathering and the lights connect through the wheels to the track.

Re: Splashes Locomotive.
The good news was I had finished spraying the black and started to clean my airbrush when the bad news the compressor started to make a hissing noise and I lost pressure
Hopefully it's just a seal blown but this could be a good excuse to upgrade
The blown compressor won't effect this build as I can hairy stick the remaining small parts that need attached.

Just small bits and decals to add

Re: Splashes Locomotive.
Sorry this will have to be a DNF I wanted to give the silver another coat of silver but this will have to wait until I can find a new compressor and without the coat of silver I can't add the decals. Plus now looking at the images I have some light leakages around the roof fans that will require sorting.
So this is as far as I have got, close but no cigar.

Looking good Alan, seeing this build makes me wish I had picked the Dapol Deltic Loco from the stash instead of the Scarab.

The Deltic is a nice kit considering its age, I fancy converting one to a later version in the green grey colour scheme.lancfan wrote:Looking good Alan, seeing this build makes me wish I had picked the Dapol Deltic Loco from the stash instead of the Scarab.
