So the operational ceiling of Peacemaker was around 2.5 meters? :)
Seriously though, fantastic build. You just can't stop feeling the sheer power of this machine.

The ceiling has supported a number of aircraft and other models for some time and is coping well!!!. . The B-36 is actually the only model I have not used cotton or invisible thread to hang it up with, for this there is only String!!. The invisible thread snapped as soon as I picked up the model by it!!.

Very impressive! It certainly needs a bit of room!
Best wishes

Great build, I never knew it had a gun deck! Sometimes you see things in models that you miss in photos of the real aircraft.

Yes, the B-36 actually had three of these, two on top and one under the rear fuselage. Each was equipped with two turrets, each with two 20mm guns. In case you aren't aware, the gunners used the small 'fish bowl' domes to sight through, they had control sticks etc and the guns moved with them (I believe). Quite a feat for the '50's.

Glad it was entertaining. I get worried that I'm boring people when no posts appear for a day of two!! :ha:

Yes, I had to move two Vulcans to get it in next to the other -36!!.

Excellent job. I must say that you have inspired me to start work on another one of Strategic Air Command's big sticks. In my case it is converting a Academy B-50D into a B-50A with the 'Saddletree' conversion to carry a Mk.6 Atomic Bomb.
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Great job on the big stick.

I knew that (from an aborted ambition to build the same model long ago; no shelf space..), but...

Aaargh! For some reason I'm now stuck with the image of one of these big boys coming in low and fast, strafing with all those 20mm guns.

That's what I wanted to do, but I couldn't stretch to three sets of guns in time for the GB!!. It would be even better IMHO to have it fending off enemy fighters with all guns going, including the front and tail ones!!. Mind you I can only find the kit for a penny under £60!!, so no more Big Sticks for a while, unless I can find a cheap one!!.
