Amazon have a copy of the Commando book 'Enemies yesterday' with a 'Look inside' preview of a couple of pages of the story.....oh dear! I think the artist was using Starfix kits as his references for the 'Hurricanes' that look like they're morphing into Spits. Don't think I'll be ordering that one!
Ian Kennedys cover is still a belter, though!

I have about 216 issues of the Commando comic. Its a pretty cool book.

There are some Commando books available now on Kindle / Comixology, Dirk.

The copy of 'Tiger in the sky' I ordered from Ebay arrived yesterday. Another one that really doesn't live up to the cover!
I should really think about doing one myself again, As a couple of years ago I found some drawings that I did when I was about 15 and (to me) they still looked better than the artwork in some of the published books.
I was inspired to try it by one particularly awful 'War Picture Library' story that featured Lancs that would magically morph into Lincolns and back with great frequency! :???:

I'll need to see if I can find the drawings again!

I'm working away to get the Camel done, it just needs decals and stripes on the rear fuselage. May get it done today but one more would be helpful.

I could do with a few more days. Almost all the painting is done just a few details to paint and a few bits to attach.

All the best.

I could do with a few more days - both Zeros are almost done, but it's just been a nightmare getting time to do them!

Would Thursday be ok for anyone still finishing? I'm going to be stuck in a polling station on that day from 6am to 10pm but I might feasibly get my Bentley finished on Wednesday.

The Hurricane is done but I didn't get time to do my second option. It was going to be a scene from the book 'I deserted Rommel' by Gunther Behnneman. Two BMW's with sidecars loaded with supplies and single riders hammering down a desert track. I will do that one some day. And I certainly recommend the book.

All the best.

Cheers for running this GB, it's been brilliant seeing everyone thinking so far out of the box.

Thanks guys for the kind words and especially for the fantastic builds that have made my first GB such an absolute joy to lead. At the risk of sounding 'Arty' they all look as if the love of the subject shows in every one.

Before this gets archived I'd just like to say that I hope everyone got as much enjoyment (or satisfaction ) from the builds as I felt when seeing them.

Stand down...... and well done chaps.

PT

Great GB - I love these "creative juices" things and only wish I could have played.
Thank you very much for the idea and leadership and thanks to all who participated.
