Re: Jumping Jack Flash
Merci mes amis,
Connie has been put aside to get Flashy finished. Still got to splay the fingers of his right hand and a wee silver thing where the lanyard attaches to the sashy type thing.

Posting a photo is usually when some little detail catches your eye that previously went unnoticed......and so it is here!
I'm working on the backdrop just now but I'll get the other thing sorted before the Glamour shot.

Re: Jumping Jack Flash
I have to say PT that your scratchbuilt figure looks more lifelike than the kit built one!
Best wishes

Re: Jumping Jack Flash
PT, that is terrific. Would you be offended If I said that the young lady's left arm doesn't appear 'to be hers'. It looked kinda wrong so I had a look back at the original drawing and it seems her whole body needs to be nearer his left leg. That said, I would never dream of doing what you have achieved so I hope you will accept my comment in the right way - a constructive observation and not a criticism.

Re: Jumping Jack Flash
That was the thing in the photo that jumped out at me too! I had thought that the book cover had the same thing going on there and was trying to avoid doing the same but it ended up like Father Dougal and the big red button!TeeELL wrote:PT, that is terrific. Re: Jumping Jack Flash
I think the difference may be that on the book cover she is much more tightly wrapped around his leg so the left arm doesn't appear overly long. Her "rubinesqueness" may also be a factor.
Regardless, it's just great work !

Re: Jumping Jack Flash **FINISHED**
I had planned to put Connie on a diet to shed a couple of pounds and put the whole thing into a deep frame for the finish but a ton of overtime has taken over all my time in the last couple of months. Having said that, it has been a mostly enjoyable build and for a first attempt at freehand ( just taking a lump of Milliput and going for it with no skeleton frame....or even a plan!) Connie* turned out not bad. I'll think of it as a good practice run for attempting this.....

Okay, that's one heck of a front cover. Should I be worried that I noticed the determined and slightly mental looking horse before the less than well dressed young lady?.
(The model looks great).

Lovely work PT. That second cover looks very dramatic.

If so, we have the same problem. Perhaps instinctively not getting trampled into pulp by the horse is classed as the more immediate concern..MarkyM607 wrote:Should I be worried that I noticed the determined and slightly mental looking horse before the less than well dressed young lady?.
Besides, running around naked on a battlefield and getting picked up and groped by Flashman mark her as either completely jinxed or terminally stupid, neither of which I find particularly atrractive.
