My builds have hit that point where a mistake could muck up paint or detail that will take ages to repair. They've slowed to a bit of a crawl for the moment (add to that the fact that work is killing me this week).

Anyone else hit that point in their build?

The deadline is looming on this group build so Ithought I'd check who feels they need an extension to finish up. I think the rigging is a bit of a killer and may slow a number of us down.

Do we need to look at extending the build by a week or so (if that's possible )?

We're not crowded on the Calendar, so any extension you might feel warranted will be fine.
Obviously, I am way behind and will be happy with any extension.

Yeah, I could do with an extension, even though my build hasn't incorporated the rigging.

These days I'm finding a 30 day groupbuild too limiting

So I'm thinking of seeing if we can extend it by 2 weeks (to be the same length as the Bomber gb). I should be done by the next week (decals-willing...) but looking at the level of completion of a number of our builds I think we'll need that time.

IF there was two more weeks beyond this Friday I'd make a real effort to build my 2 seater Camel trainer.
I'm free to start it this weekend, but of course thats after the end of the GB as it is right now.

But, if you start it before the end of the GB, then you'll be using an extension of time, not a completely different build time :-D :-D

By start, I mean open bags, check parts, maybe glue one thing to another....that kind of thing
Best wishes

More time would be good for me. I'm close, but I don't want to start rushing and make a mess of it. read, (worse mess of it :) )

Not sure if more time will help me. But could use some.

As explained in my thread, I'm classing mine as a DNF I'm afraid.

Thanks though to VV for an excellent GB idea and for his support throughout, and to everyone else who commented in the thread. Up until the finishing stages I had really enjoyed this build, and that makes the rigging and decal issues even harder to bear.

I have another Academy Camel (and a WNW one, But John has put me off that for a good while :???: ) which will come out to play at some time in the future, and for which I will retain the prop completed for this GB ;-)
Best wishes

Thanks for giving it such a thorough go. Really sorry it went south like it did. Hopefully you can face bringing it back from the brink one day. Maybe a new set of a/m decals and cutting away the rigging to replace with elastic? Time will tell, I guess.
