Finally, the cockpit assembled. Note I didn't say finished.
And a fight it was ... piece by piece paint & glue & dry then the next one, usually the next day to be sure it was all dried.
The instructions are getting worse, mostly not clearly showing part location. The usual tight fit if painted issues. An example of both, but not the only instance, is getting the Vickers mounted at the last step.
I am not going to run the control cables or rig the interior bays. I did that on my first, the RNAS Pup, and figure I have the merit badge.
Next up is trying to fit this into the fuselage halves and after a brief test fit, it doesn't look promising.
And, again, time to get to work on the ribs and flying surface painting ....

You're not exactly filling me with enthusiasm for starting a WNW kit!
It looks like hard work, but that said it does also look really very good indeed

That looks great! I'm surprised to hear of fit issues. I thought WNW kits were engineering masterpieces.

They are, but like many new kits, to very close tolerances which makes them paint intolerant.
Maybe I'm just getting old.

Fuselage "buttoned" ("sewn" ? "nailed" ?) up.
Wasn't fun. Lots of little clips & clamps & Mk.I hand clamp to get one side on ... and a good dose of Tenax ....
Then the other side, same way ....
Then the top and bottom of the fuselage ....
It's all drying and I'll address a few seams and some cleanup tomorrow ....
Next step involves wings, so I really need to get on them ....

Looks very nice, John. I have their Snipe kit and am thoroughly intimidated by it!

The clamp juggling efforts are worth it. It's looking great.

Got the firewall on.
Working on seams -- the aft fuselage underside is a problem.
I also tried a test fit of the lower wing and will need a bit of nibbling away at fuselage parts to make that happen.
In the process of al that I broke another cabane strut, broke the tail skid, and broke a tiedown ring right near it. This fuselage has too many fragile things sticking out. Anyway ...
Have all the rib taping done except the ailerons, hope to spray brown pre-shade tomorrow or Wednesday.
We have been having a lot of summer storms -- rain, heat, and today a half-dozen waterspouts -- which are throwing off my schedule ...
