That's looking more like a production line than a modelling bench! Good work on all five though
Best wishes

Thanks all. It has turned into a bit of a factory, true. But you get an economy of scale, which is why I originally started those three other camels together.

Almost at the point of adding the top wing. Lots of fiddly bits of string!

Rigging is anchored in the lower wing and will be pulled through the top wing to tension.

Nice work. What are you using for the rigging?

Three attempts to attach and align the top wing. NOT successful. I am putting down the tools, backing away slowly and going to bed....

And yet.....

I couldn't let it go. I tried again with a different strategy, this time with success!

If you are making the Roden kit, my advice is to bend some more dihedral into the lower wings. I'll do that on the others.

To attach, I took the following steps

Invert the top wing and tape it to a cutting board to align it with the grid

Loosely glue the outer struts in place and angle to 68 degrees

Loosely glue the inner struts

Invert the model and use gel superglue to attach the outer struts. Stabilize in position with paint pots. The back edge of the top wing aligns with the hinge line of the lower flaps

Hit the superglue with accelerator

Align the inner struts with the attachment points on the fuselage and apply superglue

Allow to set

"Helping hands, and fully adjustable LED lamp and a workspace elevated to face jeight. Indispensable for rigging in 1/72 without ending up in the spinal ward or the mental ward (or both)....

Double-wired, very good.

That previous picture with the light makes it appear to put a torch to it :)

Too close to the sun, Icarus!

The Comic has had its wing mounted. Much more successfully than the other, now that I have the method sorted. The other three tag-along camels should be a snatch.

Two humbrol tins are perfect - fit snugly between the wings and the tail and allow you it to be aligned and supported in two dimensions with high accuracy.

There's a word for that.......

And it's not suitable for a family forum

Tough break, I hope it fixes easily 8-)

Miraculously I managed to get it back together and rigging re-tensioned. It took patience, I'll tell you that.....

I'm starting on the undercarriage today.
