Cheers guys :-D

The prop was painted overall in Revell aqua Wood, then masked with 0.8mm tape and overpainted with Humbrol 'Leather'. Once dry, it had a coat of Tamiya clear yellow, followed by clear orange; I have to admit to being somewhat chuffed with how it came out :grin:

Not much other progress to report; I wasn't in much of a mood for modelling last night after seeing the terrible events unfold at Grenfell Tower.....it didn't seem right somehow.

Will be at the bench this evening though as I need to wrap this up ready to make way for a bomber of some type for the Bomber Aircraft GB
Best wishes

Onward and upwards with the Camel
Fuselage colours largely done; wood brown and clear yellow applied ready for grain decals:
Image
Wood grain applied with clear orange over; I've use the fine knot-less grain as I thought they'd use a better quality of ply on the outside :grin:
Image
The prop wood lamination is finished; I'd only done one side in the previous picture! :-D

I'm pretty certain the manufacturer has messed up. There's no way those can be the right way up. I vaguely recall another build of this kit and the builder realising the kit was wrong on this.

See here for the gun breeches, which should be below the line of the top of the barrel jackets: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/imag ... EjktVszWXg;

And here for the barrels, which protrude from the bottom of the jackets: http://www.rap.airwar1.org.uk/images/camel%20guns.jpg;

Without meaning to be critical, the guns on my 28th scale Camel are the other way up. :grin:

To be clear, I don't mean to be critical of you or your sterling build at all either. If the kit manufacturer has designed a kit with inverted guns, they have a lot to answer for...

No worries; I've sawn the offending locating pins off and scribed the stump to make it look like the rest of the cooling jacket. 8-)
In other news, rigging has been attached, wings and struts painted and the lower wing attached to the fuselage

Oh and I tried the prop out for size too :-D

This build looks like being one of my favourites, it's quite simply stunning, thanks for sharing.

Thanks George!

Nothing to report of late really, I have painted and applied wood decals to all the struts and u/c supports; these now need a splash of clear orange to bring them out a bit. It's been too hot though for modelling this week so it's going to be next week before I get back on the bench as other (real life) commitments beckon :shock: 8-)

Great work so far. The prop is spot on imo.
