Here is my chosen kit for the RAFM Camel, the parts look far better than
the older available offerings and it should build up easily.
Here are the sprues for both models, I will build these side by side using different parts as required from both kits by following current pictures to recreate these two preserved aircraft.

How's this one getting on, David? I love this kit. I just bought another - can never have too many!

Re: Lancfan's Hendon Camel
The kit has been pre-painted and assembly will begin this weekend, I am building this as the RAF Museum aircraft.

Re: Lancfan's Hendon Camel
Both sets of sprue were pre-painted at the same sitting and assembly of this F.1 Camel F6314 began one step behind my Lambeth 2F.1 Camel build. The Hendon aircraft is now suspended from the ceiling in the 'milestones of Flight' exhibition with a dummy pilot in the cockpit, I did not have any Great War pilots in the spares box but luckily I am about to begin the Airfix HP 0/400 in the bombers GB so the pilot from that kit was robbed out for this build. With the cockpit occupied nothing could be seen of the interior so the cockpit was only partially assembled,

Re: Lancfan's Hendon Camel
The fuselage decking and engine & cowling were next fitted, when the glue had dried the oddly facetted rear fuselage was levelled off with Plasty filler to correctly depict a taught, fabric covered fuselage.
That done the lower wing was drilled for the rigging and glued to the fuselage.

Re: Lancfan's Hendon Camel
Looking good, David. I always find its much easier to progress quickly once I've passed this point.
How have you found the fit of the kit?

Re: Lancfan's Hendon Camel
The is OK on the whole it needed filler on the lower fuselage seam to level it out and the lower wing needed a little filing to fit the fuselage.
