This is a GB of aircraft designed from the outset to carry bombs (or a single bomb) as it's primary function/mission. The ability to defend itself as a secondary function is permissible but not the reverse. Other than that, any kit, any scale, any markings. Whiff's are not included but experimental and prototypes are allowed.

This GB started from threads here and here.

The GB runs from June 17th to July 30th; your GBL is iggie who will fill in any other info.

Welcome to all for this Bomber Aircraft GB!
The GB is open to all as long as your chosen subject was designed primarily as a bomber before entering service, even if it went on to serve in other roles once in production.
Aircraft designed as anything else than a bomber, e even if used as such once I service are not included.
So a search and rescue Lancaster is allowable, but a bomb carrying Hurricane is not.
I'm looking forward to seeing a good range of subjects and I hope that everyone will take the time to look in on all the other threads and offer support and comments; as a frequent GB entrant it's always a morale boost when you get comments from all your fellow GB members!
Time to get those engines started, ready for chocks away on the 17th!

You're not alone Mark. I'm still trying to decide my choice; Lancaster? Wellington? 1/32 Stuka? 1/32 Ju88? 1/72 Ju88? Whitley?....... :???: :???:

I'm torn between two, possibly three, although one of those had been started a while back (although only minor sub-assemblies worked on).

1) CASA 2.111 (the Spanish-built Heinkel 111, which is the one I started)
2) Avro Lancaster B.III (which I could build as a Dam Buster movie Lanc)
3) North American B-25B Mitchell (which I would build as a movie aircraft based on a real machine)

Decisions....!

You do realize if you choose the B-47, you will have to hang a Mk.6 Atomic Bomb in the bomb bay? Wolfpack just happens to have one listed.

I'm in with the new new Airfix Handley Page Victor B.Mk2. I need it complete my trio of "V Bombers" in anti-flash White and each with it's very own bucket of instant sunshine.

Roden Gotha G.V.: a descent into madness?

Almost certainly, but hey, what's life without a healthy dose of insanity?....

Oooh I'm liking the choices so far! Although medication may be required if the Roden Gotha comes out to play!

On a somewhat serious note, I was in contact with a B-47 pilot and he said that the only thing they flew with was a nuclear bomb. They never flew with the conventional bombs included in the Hasegawa kit. So, if you want to be accurate with the loadout, the Mk.6 nuclear device is the only to go. And it just so happens that Wolfpack has it in stock. I bought two and hung one from my B-47 and the second is in my B-50As bombay. It's well worth the money.

Of course, should you have your heart set on the Hasegawa B-47, you should invest in a Pavla cockpit.

You know you really want the cockpit and bomb. To quote Mick Jagger, "Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name." :)

And (better late than never) we're under way!
There looks to be a good range of subjects and makes already and plenty more to come I hope!
I'm still Camel-bashing in the other GB and trying to decide on my entry for this one......!!!
