Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
This is going well Daren; what are the joins like along the fuselage?
Best wishes
Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
They're not too bad. A bit of work to get rid of the join, I imagine, but nothing too taxing.

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
That is coming together really nicely, Daren. The fuselage join looks pretty much par for the course for an older kit from here - nowt a bit of sanding and a touch of filler won't cure!

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
It certainly does! Those seams have cleaned up nicely by the look of it.
Talking of B25s, I hadn't noticed that Airfix are to release a new-tool at the end of this year

Looks nice, that!
I still haven't decided whether or not to build my model gear-up or gear-down....

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
Missed that also, but if they don't do a C-1 strafer version, I'm not buying. Although used in a number of roles and theaters, other than the Doolittle raid, the B-25 is most identified in the low-level role in the SW Pacific (again IMO).iggie wrote:It certainly does! And yes, she's going on the stand!
Ted Lawson and his copilot are trying the Mitchell out for size, before they, too, will get a paintjob.

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
Looking good with the wings and tail feathers on. Interesting that Airfix is bringing out a new-tool of the B-25, not one I would have expected but equally not to be sniffed at. IMHO the B-25 is an important type and is deserving of a nice modern kit in the gentleman's scale.

That's because this is a rebox of the Italeri B-25 kit.Saxon wrote:The stand looks interesting. Reminds me of the Italeri logo.

Re: Daz's Ruptured Duck
The Ruptured Duck is getting closer to completion, with the engines now getting worked on at the moment. Once those are done and attached, I can look at throwing some paint on her.
As VMA131Marine says, the kit is a re-box of the Italeri kit. I didn't notice it at first, but the stand actually has the word "Italeri" stamped on the base of it!!

So, most of the important bits are on the Mitchell now, including the engines.
