I have to admit that I do like a nice Olive Drab overall scheme....and, for some reason no matter who's paint you use, it always seems to go on well! Yours looks spot on

Why then, have I not built something in this scheme for years?

Oh..... BALLS!

I've just realised I've made a rather large error on my Mitchell.

When I was building the model, I assumed that, since the other version of the kit is a C-model, the D-model (which was used in the film) would be externally similar, including the engine cowlings. Certainly, having looked at a few B-25 photos online, it looked at though they should be the same. I should have paid a bit more attention when I was watching the film this morning....

The engine cowlings are NOT the same....

I'll now have to sand the bloody things down.

Schoolboy error, I would have thought after so many movie builds you would be past this sort of thing! :ha: :ha: :ha: :ha:

I know, I know. I'll get to work on it ASAP.

Mind you, I have just thought of another movie build, which also involves a B-25....!!

Thankfully, the Duck's surgery went well, and the cowlings are a lot smoother!

Some of the paint needs a bit of a touch-up, but it's gone well.

After that, I've just got to install the .50cals, put on the nose and tail glazing, and install the prop hubs (without props - in flight, remember?), and then it's on to the decals.

Top job! Those cowlings have cleaned up nicely and look much more like your chosen subject!

Just needs those canopy frames painted before the decals go on!

That's Ted Lawson (or Van Johnson, depending on your point of view!) in the cockpit, along with his copilot.

And she is..... DONE!

The real "Duck" had the words "US ARMY" written beneath the wings, but the movie "Duck" doesn't appear to have that. The serial number of the real "Duck" has been left off, as the film version was different - and I sadly don't have any numbers of the correct type to use on her at the moment! All in due course, though....!

Anyway, not a bad build. The Mitchell came out nicely, I reckon.

Mind you, there are a few more films they feature in....!

Nicely done. Do I spy some of the carpet monsters dinner near the tail in your first three pics?

Oh yeah, I never noticed that propeller blade lying there! Not sure what it's from, mind you!

Great build Daz. I love the old school stars & red centre markings.

Me, too.

I watched another film recently with a similar-looking B-25 in it.

No, maybe another time.... ;-)
