Greg dragging his tail.
Here will be my build of the 180. It's a four seat taildragger and one of Cessna's earlier post WW2 designs. The kit is a fairly old one by Monogram. It's of the era where wirking parts were the hight of detail and thus has opening doors. Not sure if I will leave them functioning yet. Sprue shots to follow.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Well Jeff. I am alowing started models provided they are not too far advanced. If it's just a bit of paint and a couple of parts together it would be cool to compare notes during the build.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Thanks Greg. Just the wing halves are assembled. Picked it up at a show. Desiring to put 1/48 P-51 tires on it for a bushplane.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
If you want them I have a spare set of 1/72 mosquito mainwheels that should be about the correct size for bushmaster wheels.
Here are the sprue shots.

Love the 180 - always one of my favourites.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
I have made a small start on the 180. First coat of white on the interior but it will need at least two more. Then the red will follow. I have painted the aluminium on the firewall and the wheels and glued the seat backs in. The wing halves together and the engine block together. Pics below.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Just a quick update. Second coat of white on the interior. I am trying out the new Mission models paint. It has covered quite well but the proof of them will be when I have done the final coat. I have put this coat over the first coat of Xtracrylic. It has taken quite well. Other than that no more news on the build.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Cheers Jeff. I have also started flatting back the rivets but not so they dissappear. I know Cessnas are rivet monsters but in 48 scale they would hardly be noticable. Apart from painting one of the next jobs is boxing in the landing light.

Looking good Greg. Believe it or not I had that one many years ago. The box art tipped me off. Of course I mangled it but I'll bet you do it fair justice.

Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Nice going Greg! I love the color yellow. Is that a stock color or something you mixed?
Re: Greg dragging his tail.
Cheers Greg. It's Mission Model Highway yellow code MMP-041. The interior scheme is an educated guess. I have worked on quite a few old Cessnas in my time and some of the interior colour schemes were 'interesting' to say the least.
