That's coming along wonderfully! Sanding around those rear windows is a real testament to your steady hand, Greg!

I like the yellow tips too. That's not the easiest color to work with and yours has excellent opacity.

Cheers guys.
The yellow is Mission Models Highway yellow. That was two thin coats over one coat of white base. I think one more coat will get it.

All the best.

Well. The tricky masking has been done. Just need to find my 1mm tape for the rudder stripes. The rest was done with 2mm. I may be able to get some paint on tonight but it will probably be tomorrow night now.

All the best.

Cheers Greg. The masking was a pain but not as bad as I thought it would be. I managed to get a coat of yellow on last night and hopefully will get another on tonight. I think it will be three coats then on to the black. then it's assembly and final detail painting Clear-coat, decaling and final clear-coat.

All the best.

Well, the painting has been done and the masking is off. And suufice to say that had I not been building this for a G/B it would have been shelved. I rubbed down the masking tape. Used decent tape too. And the paint crept under the tape all over the place. It's a mess. I will have loads of touch ups to do all over it. The best thing to do would be a strip and re-paint but I haven't got enough time. Ho well. Back to the bench I go.

All the best.

Just been doing some touching up. It's an improvement but not perfect. I will do some more tomorow and get the model ready for final assembly. Incidentally it was Tamia 2mm tape I used.

All the best.

I have finished the paint touch ups and corrected a couple of errors on the paint scheme. Ones I should have spotted earlier, like before I started masking. Pics will be taken tomorrow.

All the best.

That's a complex paint scheme -- a shame the tape let you down as the pattern masking appeared to be spot on.

The masking wasn't far off but if I had done more basic research like look at the side of the box rather than trawling the net I would have prevented the errors I made. Still as least I managed to correct the mistakes freehand to a reasonable degree.

All the best.

I am back on track and the painting is now sorted after a little bit of touching up of sll three main colours. That has dried and I have put a coat of gloss Galeria varnish on the yellow only as that is the only matt colour. All over coats will be next. I have also done some assembly. The pics show where I am at with the build.

All the best.

7am here and first cup of coffee!
WOW very nice! You really pulled that together. Great save on the paint bleeding under the tape. I know how dis heartening it can be to see that. You have to be well pleased at this point. I think the black and yellow are a striking color combination. Waiting to see more.
