Perusing the stash I found the OH58D by Matchbox circa 1987.

That's a sweet little kit. I built one quite some time ago for a G/B. No real issues with it.
All the best.

Thanks Greg. A few parts, one color. Just the glass to fettle with.

Good luck Jeff. I've always found Matchbox kits to be perfect Blitzbau fodder.

Re: Matchbox PK43. OH58D Kiowa Aeroscout
I'll be looking forward to seeing this one! I've got a real sweet spot for the Kiowa since I built one as a small boy. I put a blanket over the front porch railings and made a tent and took the kit with me. Put it together in an hour or two. No paint. I probably didn't bother with decals either. This was the summer of 1974 or '75 and olive green helicopters were ubiquitous.
Best of luck and will keep an eye peeled,

Here are some teasers in preparation for Thursday.
Box Art:
Sprue Layout:
Instruction Sheet. Pure Matchbox.
Oh dear, the adhesive has turned brown. The decals themselves look fine. But I will select a sacrificial tail number to test them out.
So. We all know that the key to a good Blitz is preparation. So I am getting the workbench in order. Setting up the clock. Invitations sent out to my usual mascots. Bruce the shark will appear to munch down my empty sprues. Blitz food lined up and maybe some old, and I mean old, musical interludes.
I have selected this kit due to fact that it is a one color scheme, few parts while tiny in 1/72 this should work out. But mostly because my Apache needs an Aeroscout to be a proper Hunter-Killer team.
Reviewing construction sequence before hand so no surprises
This will be a 24 hour build and hoping to start at 0600EDT 1200-1300UTC I think.

Re: Matchbox PK43. OH58D Kiowa Aeroscout
Seeing those instructions and sprue shots is strangely nostalgic. I think I might have built this kit as a teenager, though I have no recollection of it. Great choice for a Blitzbau though, looking forward to it.
Re: Matchbox PK43. OH58D Kiowa Aeroscout

In the first hour seems progress is being made. Only niggle so far has been the sink holes in the dog house cover. All else is moving along. In a Blitz you realize that after studying the instructions a little you can move around.
