Wimp Blitz it is then. I just had to go and do the supermarket run that I got out of last night, so I'm starting the clock at 13:10 - still aiming to be finished by 23:00 - I don't even want to be out in my shed that late to be honest so I'll get a move on!

Go for it!!. I've had problems with the Humbrol RLM colours, all are thin and strangely viscous, if that is the right word. They work better with an undercoat of another enamel but still can take two coats to get a good coverage.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Scene Two, Act 1 in which Otto gets a Boat Race...

... that's Face for you none-Cockerney types! :ha:
I'm not good a figure painting or accurate cockpit or instrument panel detailing so I go for an Impressionistic approach and just hope it looks OK from a distance.

Otto will receive a few darker highlights to suggest eyes and shadowing around the nose and nostrils etc. but that's as far as it goes. I gave him a gloss black leather bomber jacket and then added silver dry brushed highlights.
Image

I picked out the dials in gloss black and then ran a white Chinograph pencil over them and added some red and yellow splodges for variety to just try and make the IP look "busy" - same for the cockpit tub side walls and panels.
Image

Otto finally in place. Wheel Oleos picked out in silver too.
Image

Forgot about the clock, so here's one...

...and that's Lunch on the second day here at Lords in Chellaston.

The wife said I could only have the dirty burger if I drank a pint of "green" to offset it - juiced fruit and green vegetables - already half drunk here and very nice actually and the burger is a rare indulgence.

Back soon.

Engine painted and then fitted. I printed of a photo of the engine of the example in the Deutsches Museum in Munich and realised the kit version is only a very rough approximation, so didn't feel too bad about over detailing it.

The wing section is just a dry fit at this stage.

I took this chance to touch in some of the Tamiya Light Blue where there had been some copious over-spraying of the camouflage green. I shall take more care when I spray the camouflage grey later!

Nice work for Scene 2, even if it is pure sacrilege to drink (eat?) that green stuff from s proper Black Sheep straight glass.....you'll need to give that a damn good wash out before drinking any ale from it!
Best wishes

After the soul destroying day with the airbrush yesterday I decided to go back to my trusty Tamiya acrylics, mixed the colours on the hoof and just go for it. Oh Tamiya, why did I ever doubt you. Based very loosely on the decals paint scheme pattern, I just sprayed and mottled away with abandon. I'll win no prizes for authenticity, but I am as pleased as a dog with two... friends, with the outcome.

Grabbing some dinner now with my daughter staying overnight (her 30th birthday tomoz so all off to Yorkshire Safari Park for the day) so I'll quickly throw on the decals and fit the wings, canopy and landing gear later this evening and hopefully call it finished!

Hard to believe you've achieved that much on a 1/32 scale kit, in such a short time. Impressed!

Great Mottling, I never try it yet. I have three german planes to do with this camo. And do not have air brush. Saw YouTube video show a base coat then thinner and l stipple/q tip blend in paint. Do not now if it works but my only option.

Migrant has a Me 262 on sale on kijiji. I might buy it if still has it in a month.

Great Job I like the camo paint!
