Re: Tim's Hasty Hellcat - **underway**
Thanks Iggie.
I've given it a coat of paint but I overlooked one important thing to remember for a Blitzer... the battery in my camera has run out. More pics once it has recharged.

The camera is up and running again so here's the Hellcat after a coat of paint. The bombs have also been painted.

Re: Tim's Hasty Hellcat - **underway**
Twelve hours in and the decals are going on, which isn't bad as I'm using enamels and a hairy stick.
Still plenty of time to go so I should be finished in time.

Thanks Jeff. Most of the decals are on now, just a few stencils left. After that it'll be time to add the rockets and bombs.

Re: Tim's Hasty Hellcat - **underway**
Do you remember when underwing rockets on models came with the mountings moulded to the rockets? It was a lot easier to fit them than it would be if each rocket had two mountings each like this kit does. I managed to get them on eventually but faffing about with tiny parts at one o'clock in the morning isn't my idea of fun, especially when the carpet monster fancies a midnight feast. Anyway, here's how it stands now.
Time for bed now, I'll finish it in the morning.

Re: Tim's Hasty Hellcat - **Finished**
Another close finish (thanks in part to the battery in my alarm clock running out during the night). After waking up with about 40 minutes to go I added the final few stencils and the undercarriage door that the carpet monster swallowed last night.
This is a very nice kit. Attaching the underwing stores is a bit fiddly but apart from that it goes together very well (the only filler I used was more my fault than the kit's) and captures the look of the Hellcat well.
