The Great Auk's Near Zero Aukward Blitz 2

Hello again!
I had so much fun with the Aussie P-40 last week that I decided to try another blitz. This time I'm tackling a simpler kit, the venerable 1/72 Hawk Zero. I don't think I've ever seen a smaller parts count for a kit in this scale. Eight total if one doesn't count the stand or the spats that I swiped from a Nichimo A5M Claude.
Uh oh, Houston we've got a problem...that prop will need fixing.
And it looks like I'll need to dig out replacement decals. Thank goodness I'm dealing with the Most Trusted Name In Modeling. This is reassuring because I don't think I've ever built a Zero in 1/72 scale before.
The prop has been glued back together. Looks like a good time for a bit of breakfast.
A large mug of coffee and an asiago bagel. Mmmmmm.....

Here's the current state of play as of 8:38AM local time.
The first bit of painting is done and I'm ready to button up the fuselage. Before doing that, I think I'll grab some refreshment.
Ahhhhh...

Here's how it all looks as of 10AM local time.
I think I'll crack this open while I wait for the glue to set.

An hour later and the glue was dry, so I fitted the wing and canopy.
While I wait for that to set, I think I'll grab a snack.

I really enjoyed the snack, but I think I enjoyed getting the legs on this Near Zero even more.
I added a tail wheel I found rattling around in the box. It may have come from that Cessna Skymaster.

So here's where things stand.
I feel a bit tired, I could use a V-8.

That coffee and asiago bagel looks so good to Blitz your Blitzbau build!!! I like the V8 and the black cherry pop and juice and chips too
That reminds me I need to pick up a timer/clock...and find a very easy kit to try another 24 hour build maybe do the 2 twelve's

Thanks for the encouragement, fellows!
Here's where the Near Zero is at currently.
I did all the painting in one marathon session over the last two hours using the old hairy stick and acrylics.
The upper color is Polly Scale WarPac Gray even though it looks green.
The underside color is Model Masters Gray Primer.
Local time was 4:45PM
I'll be back soon but now it's supper time.

Looks AIR BRUSHED!!
Chili and saltines...I hope you have something to hydrate and wash down the saltines...
How much time do have left for decals etc....? Is this first 12 hours?

This is surely some record where the number of snacks consumed exceeds the parts count of the kit being built.

Finished at 6:57PM local time.
Granted, the small parts count and fairly simple color scheme played a large role in getting this one done in just a bit over 12 hours.
The model was painted freehand by brush with acrylics and the decals are mostly from an ancient sheet of Roundels Round the World or somesuch.
I haven't had very good luck with these decals before. Usually they shatter on me badly, even with a clear coat.
The concept is that this is an interim step between the
A5M Claude and the
A6M Zero.
Designated the A5M9 on paper, only seven were ever built. Performance was disappointing so they were sold to Thailand who used them as advanced trainers.
I had a lot of fun participating in another blitz. The timing of this GB has been good since lately I've been busy during the week but Sundays have been free for model building.
Thanks again to John for getting us going, Jeff for leading the way and to all of you for your encouragement. Now I think I'll celebrate.
