I'll be on this one with an Airfix O-2, type four bag and all! It's still younger than me, mind....

Definitly old enough. And certainly worthy. Plus it has a Landrover and as a self confessed Landy nut how could I say no?

Well this is going to be something to watch. I may not get mine done, too many distractions.

Would this be acceptable? Its rather a different subjectfredk wrote:Question;
Does it have to be an aeroplane?
Cos, I just realised I have two-non aeroplane kits which really fit the GB
One I have here to hand;
Made by Pyro. Inside the kit is marked 1966. The box and instructions are marked 1967.
This one No.1 son bought for me as a Chrissy prezzie at Telford in '12
I last built one of these about 45 years ago. Me and my bestest friend built the whole set of kits between us. I still have one of them, up on my top most display shelf.
These are something that you very rarely see built or exhibited
It might take me the full month to get it built tho

When I get off my road trip I will open with the Hawk F2H2 Banshee. Circa 1957. I was six years old

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I would like to run this possible gasp enducing option past the selection and approval committee:
I really ought to get out more and/or apply for sanctioning and sectioning, but having recently found and read an old airfix magazine article, a taster of which I publish here as: exhibit A
It would be my intention to conduct an act of heresy using these pieces of plastic, (exhibit B)
which will, if approved for subsequent cobbling, be treated to an overnight dip in Dettol first, thereby rendering them back to an unpainted plastic starting point.
Disclaimer: I do fully realise that the original article used 54mm figures, and I am attempting something stupid with something else; and I shall use parts from all 3 figures in order to cobble just one together .... and if all goes well I shall fully equip him with a parrot and treasure too.

Trying to Build kits and not Buy kits
Re: Sign-up and Chat
Ho wow. This is certainly bringing out the classic plastic. Between those figures. The old pistol and the banshee they will have a combined age of well over a century, which lets face it is almost as old ss most of my jokes lol all those aremore than welcome on this build.
All the best.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Another judgement call required please Greg for this second hand partially started but complete 1/32 Bf109 - glued parts are at the bottom - cockpit, flaps wheels etc. but nothing has been painted as yet.
I am also entering an untouched 1/32 Fw.190 of the same vintage so won't be the end of the world if you say no, but I'd actually prefer to build the 109 over the 190!
Cheers
Al.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I'm officially signing up with the USAIRFIX boxing of the 1964 Airfix PBY Catalina. I still haven't settled on the paint scheme yet but it will be an oob build with a bit of scratch here and there.
I'll get a photo of the box and pieces up as soon as I get home from work.

Ok Al. Feeling quite old looking at this and 190. Whatever the faults they make up nice.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Hi folks.
I have made a call on started kits. As long as they are no more than about 10% done then they are ok to go. This is because due to the age of these old kits then some modelling meddling may have been done, usually by previous owners of second hand models. Does everyone agree? Nice one with the Gustav Al.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Can I join in with this Hasegawa F-5A in 1/72 scale?
It dates from 1967 although I will be using the 1970 re-issue boxing.
