VV's KK Frankencamel **Finished**

Pre-1980 boxings of any kit, but preferably hard to obtain -- something that would make a collector cringe to see built.

Looking good, VV. I find fitting the top wing and getting it aligned to be the most difficult part of building a biplane, rigging is fiddly but easier than that IMHO

Looks like you're in the home stretch with your Camel!

Love the wood tone on the struts!

Thanks :)

I've been on vacation for the last week. I managed to get most of it done while there. Just prop wheels and tail skid to attach. Pics to follow.

And here it is. Sopwith F.1 Camel, B Flight, No. 47 Squadron RAF, Berketovka, flown by Flt. Lt. S. M. Kinkead. Part of the force sent by the UK to aid the White Russians in the Russian Civil War/Revolution.

It's not the greatest Camel model ever built, by any stretch, but I'm thinking it looks better with its modifications than it would have out of the box.

Spiffing work on that Camel VV.
BTW, have you read 'A splendid little war' by Derek Robinson? That's about RAF Camels (and DH9s) in Russia

Thanks, chaps

It's come out looking better than I expected, anyway.

No I have not, but clearly I need to chase this up. Thanks for the tip.
There is a (fictional) John Harris story set around the RAF force sent to Russia, which I was somewhat inspired by:

Liking it, specially the motor looks very "alive".

Thanks everyone. It's certainly made a nice addition to the display. The kit bashing was worth it.
