Re: Splash's Bloodhound
Thanks for all of your support, you comments are well received.
Progress on what everyone is calling "the little landy " is promising.
I have been experimenting with strips of tin foil and chrome paint to do the small strip on the doors and windscreen frame and I'm happy with how it's starting to turn out, once I have added glass I will stick the roof down and fill the seams.
What do you think about the roof colour?
Is it too light?
Should it be blue? (Looking at other websites this is a can of worms subject)

Re: Splash's Bloodhound
Might be a tad light but perhaps a wash and wax might tone it down and darken it a bit.

Re: Splash's Bloodhound
The Landy canvas looks good, but would probably look more stained and scuffed. A wash and a bit of dry-brushing would be my suggestion.
I love this kit. It was one of my favourite builds as a lad.
cheers

You'e got the patience of a saint getting those metal details done so convincingly!
A muddy wash on the canopy would do the trick. You could carry it over to the rest of the vehicle while you're at it if you're so inclined.
One of the things I really like about this place is seeing kits built I never see on my side of the pond.
So your little Landy is a nice treat!

If the Landrover worked mainly on bases, the cover would be pretty cean and well-looked after...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Re: Splash's Bloodhound
Work has got in the way of progress but the landi is slowly getting there.
To get the yellow circle and small RAF roundel I had to use punches to cut out the different colours and stick them on top of each other.

Re: Splash's Bloodhound
Although you get a missile transportation trailer in the box, I have not had time to build it and I think it would require lots of work to improve its looks, the same with the supplied figures they are too poor to be of any use (apart from the dog he is quite nice)
So I'm calling this one finished.
It's a great kit and I would recommend it to anyone, the Land Rover is basic but with a little work can be drastically improved.
