Dollar's PBY Catalina

Pre-1980 boxings of any kit, but preferably hard to obtain -- something that would make a collector cringe to see built.

Oh hell, it hasn't been all that bad. The stars are just not lined up for me on this one.

Here's where I stand as of tonight. The long curved frame is done. Tomorrow night, the other side. Using Tamiya, blue painter's tape and vinyl electrician's tape. as the need arises.

It's working very well. Nice straight lines. There are canopies out there with waaay more frames, so don't give up

That's looking great despite the problems you've had with it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I'm still masking and brushing the clear parts frames. The cockpit is nearly done and I've started on the waist gun blisters. Camera is charging right now so pics later.

What those guys said.
Nice work Greg. Your props should be with you fairly soon.

All the best.

I agree, painting canopy frames is often a bit of a chore but it has to be done for the model to look anything like. You've done a great job of those, Greg.

That looks like some exacting work indeed and I don't think I've ever seen the framing on a Cat' done better!

Just to let you know I’m still in it!
I broke my ankle 2 days ago at work so I’ve had a bit more time to work on the old girl.
All the transparencies are painted and decals are in progress. Greg has mailed me a set of props that I hope will arrive by Sunday but if not a B-25 from the stash will be raided for the cause. I had long since forgotten about that kit and ran across it yesterday looking for something else. I’d post some pics but my wife is backing up her phone and hogging the computer. I will post them later today.
