More than eligible. Would love to see that built.

The Badger is looking superb.

All the best.

Right on! Cheers. I will get it out to the bench once there's room. It's this boxing...

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/174672- ... 01b-voodoo;

Please notice the brave pronouncement on the box top saying '1/72nd scale'.

Yeah go ahead and show me up ! I been on and off with the 1/48 Monogram 1980's Voodoo for 5 years!

I'm really curious to see what magic you pull out of your hat on this. Many times I've wished mine was 1/72!

Ha! I would love to get a Voodoo in 72nd, preferably a camera ship. That's the funny part-this kit I have isn't 72nd scale. In any event if I were to do it I would like to do it as a CF-101.

Looking good comrade GMG! The Badger is a handsome Cold War warrior IMHO.

Agreed, Shaun. It is part of an interesting family and progression of design from the mater of all strategic bombers used by the US and USSR if you think about it, the B-29.

Yes, I agree. The B-29 (and its cheeky Russian copy, the Tupelov Tu-4) was the pinnacle of wartime piston-engine bomber development until it was overshadowed by the mighty post-war B-36. To my eyes the B-29 looks right and if it looks right, then it is right, goes the old engineering saying. Best looking bomber of the war IMHO.

Badgering the Badger along. Pre shading before a good honk or two of gloss black primer. Sorry no pic of that but it was goopy as the propellant was almost gone. I think that can was either defective or damaged in some way. Ah well, it was just enough before getting out of hand. Domes and glazing blutaked or taped over soon after.

Then turned back into a silver bird, where hopefully any gnome misdemeanors wil not be visible.

A lighter wash than the righteous hosing I did the Heinkel with was then liberally applied and allowed to semi-dry. Why semi-dry? Because it mixes nicely with the floor wax and eventually dries where and how it is supposed to, and with all that tasty1960's rivety-ness and garish panel lines that wash will really make it pop out. The Tu-16 is going to need at least two generous coats of wax before I get anywhere close to decalling.

Lovely paint work. I like the dirty look of it!

Very good, GMG, that is a nicely weathered looking NMF.

Cheers, gents. I was looking for a burnished bare metal appearance rather than a dirty one, though. I may do the Voodoo some time before the end of the year as I don't have enough time to do it before the end of this Group Build.

Decals all on and waxed over. Just the landing gear to do for apron beauty shots......
