You've made some fantastic progress and I think the shading will be a nice bonus!

Thanks!, it's a rare thing to do pre-shading but the picture put up here would not leave my mind so I had to have a go!!. The Draken is a brilliant shape, I might build the Airfix one too, just for comparison.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

That is shaping up very nicely, Mark and +1 from me regarding the pre-shading.

Re: Mark's Swedish Dane!
Thanks chaps!. Unfortunately my airbrush seemed to stop pulling paint through although air was coming out. While cleaning what bits there are I've lost the little tube that goes from the underside of the jar cap into the jar . No idea where it's gone but as it's plastic I'm assuming the carpet monster has it!!!.
The underside has been pre-shaded the same as the top.

Re: Mark's Swedish Dane!
I find the trick with the carpet monster, is to trick it into believing the part is insignificant and that you don’t need it, it then discards it where you can find it.
Don’t let it know the part is essential or part of your airbrush otherwise it will never give it back.

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I'm working on it Plane!! I am annoyed at losing it as it seemed to be coming along really nicely and for once my modelling mojo is chugging along well!!.planecrazyman61 wrote:hi mark as the others have remarked on your preshading it does look good ,hope the airbrush issue can be fixed as i'm looking forward to seeing the draken in the weather worn scheme

That's a good idea , I have tried going to the bench and sitting as though not much matters!!!. Might have to step it up to your suggestions!!!.splash wrote:I find the trick with the carpet monster, is to trick it into believing the part is insignificant and that you don’t need it, it then discards it where you can find it.

Re: Mark's Swedish Dane!
Well, trying not to be bothered by losing the part has been unsuccessful at present . However my dad came to the rescue with a bit of tube from his hearing aid (I stress it's an old spare bit, he's not going arpound saying 'eh?, what?'), however.....
The bit that the tube attaches to, that puts the paint in the airflow, is now leaking around it's base!!! ..... I've cleaned more paint of off my hands than the model!!. I have brush painted the underside with thinned paint and it seems okay, not as smooth streak wise as the top but it will do. I'm going to brush paint a lighter green now and try and leave the pre-shading and airbrushed colour around the panel lines and so on.

Re: Mark's Swedish Dane!
Maybe some of your Dads ear wax around the base of the tube will seal it nicely?
