Kit's Prototype Griffin, Griffon or Gryphon **DNF**

Post by Kitaholic »

Why 3 spellings and all are correct? The English language confuses me at times.

Anyway planning a quick build of this as the ill fated first development aircraft.

Nice one. I didn't realise the mythical beast had three spellings in English! I've seen film once or twice on TV of one of these prototype Gripens crashing after suffering a software issue, possibly the one you are modelling - IIRC the pilot was still on board but thankfully survived.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

That's the one, apparently it was pilot induced oscillation. He walked away with a fractured elbow, testament to the toughness of the cockpit structure.

I think spelling of the name depends on what era in the English language you are using. Modern is probably Griffon, a few centuries back it was Griffin and Gryphon is ancient times. Probably wrong but as least it sounds like I know what I'm on about!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!
