Doing amazing work here mate. I think I would have stuck the floats and tail onto a decent Spitfire kit so kudos to you.

When was that ever the point?

Well, that is the thing. As I have already said earlier I am sticking to the spirit of the Build. No substitutions. And also because I don't have any inclination to scrape up another kit that will cost more money. Other than Pilot Officer Badger and his very contrived office, that's it. I even scrounged the floatplane's original four bladed prop back from the Buchon which now sports its original airscrew. Keep the krap together, I say. If I come by this subject again I will investigate the Brengun offering. Their Messerspit looks nifty, too.

Wasn't really ideal rattlecan weather today but now I find myself champing at the bit to just get on with it.

The weather just is not my friend around here. Wet and cold and windy. Not ideal rattlecanning climate; my kingdom for a warm and well ventilated workshop.....anyhoo, got the primer on. Wasn't that an ordeal. Everything from here on in is avec le baton hirsute.

If the modelbuilding gods and goddesses prevail upon me their good graces I might get this done under the wire.

Looks like a Spitfire. Which is pretty impressive with this kit.

Crawling along........Paint sort of on. Now need it to dry a bit more before I get on with touching it up and trying to remove paint that got on the bottom. A quick wash for control surfaces and office door, then Floor wax which will hopefully be dry by tomorrow morning for decalling.

Looking good. Reckon it'll be done in time?

Unusual aircraft are always interesting. I'm confident you'll get it done.

Is it just me or do the floats look like small scale submarines?

It looks great with the paint on, looking forward to seeing it finished.

Tim I thought the exact same thing. Was sorta tempting to scotch the build and do a couple of midget subs in Braille Scale, heh heh. Anyways this is where I am at. The silvering around the top wing roundels have calmed down a bit and might do even more once it is dullcoated. Just breakables, exhausts, antenna wire, airscrew and overall dullcote left to do, so it is conceivable that I will get it done on time (Pacific Standrard Time that is :ha: ) . Now if only it would get a tad warmer outside so I can git 'er done!

Looks great to me, GMG.

Why are you tagging is as 'DNF'?

Well DNF means 'darned near finished' does it not? It is mostly done but there are fiddly issues with the floats etc that I need to get to the bottom of before I can take or post any proper shots of. I have changed the heading. I feel really that nothing I build is ever 100% done anyways. Always one more thing to attend to, like floats that fall off seconds after you take the first pics......
