That's some superb craftsmanship, especially on the replacement part Crash!

Nice work on the burner can too!

...wings glued - good fit! only a thin, fine seam to clean up:

...some card to cover up the air intakes, and some for a makeshift cockpit floor (which still needs to be cut to fit in!):

Hey, there is some great bodging going on here, Crash, you're a man after my own heart. Best of luck getting the best out of this tired old dog finely crafted Airfix classic

I have to admit, I start to feel more and more sympathy for this toothless granddad of a kit, because it gives you an easy opportunity for scratchbuilding without any danger of remorse for just bodging around
Made a bulkhead, cut all scrap up to fit in the fuselage, seat and pilot blutac´ed:

wheel well doors dry fitted, not an even fit, but could be worse:

Glad you're enjoying it and you're making a great job of that oldie.

That's some stellar modeling skill you've got there Crash!

You've hit on the secret of some of these vintage kits. Not only can they be had cheap, but they're excellent fodder for adding scratch-built extras.

Cheering you on from the sidelines,

I had the same problem with mine. Keep up the good work.

....fuselage glued with help of my trusty cloth pegs:

No KK without clamping  ! ...and for some colour, I painted the helmet yellow
And I couldn´t help myself from scribing a frame for the canopy. Without a line there, looks like canopy´s has to get slid back for the little man, to get in / out. But it´s hinged, of course.
But this is the ONLY line I scribe in this build - I don´t wanna mar the spirit of this GB, for sure :)

By the way: Thank you! everybody, for your nice comments on my build(s) here.
Though it´s a virtual community, it makes me feel like being at home :-)

Good idea to scribe a like for the canopy. IIRC it doesn't have many panel lines on it.

Those few there are, mostly got lost by sanding... but they didn't look realistic, anyway. Wings soon on, pix later

Update:
Instead of using that cumbersome rubber thingie with it´s brittle, thick walls, as burner can, I (ab)used a filler cartridge for that:

fits right in there:

...wings glued on, some small gaps to fill, but nothin too bad:

.....
....and there´s more to fill: part of the wing roots are missing! Could it be that I snipped them off, believing, they were part of the runners? Plastic card comes to the rescue.

Good idea for the exhaust can.
