(Sky)raiders of the lost art

Select the most rubbish kit in your stash, one that probably has no other chance of seeing a workbench, and build it however you wish - and have fun doing it along with others likewise occupied.

(Sky)raiders of the lost art

Post by Gregers »

The lost art of beating recalcitrant kits into something that resembles the real thing that is. Though there are some true artisans of that art on here. These old dinosaurs (and lets face it. Many millennia ago they WERE bits of REAL dinosaur) were state of the art when many of us were still at the Cry-Drink-Burp-poop-Sleep stage of our lives (and are fast heading back there too as senility kicks in)
so I will add to this eclectic collection of ancient plastic the Ex Monogram Revell re-pop of the Skyraider. A kit with issues. I will go into that more as I post the build but so as not to bore you any longer here are the pixs.

All the best.

Greg

Good box art can hide a multitude of sins. :) I'll be watching this one as I have one in the pile of shame.

A few update pics here. I am going to paint the cockpit tub in situ so I got to assembling the fuselage first off. Adding to the build is the old one that was stripped down to its component parts and starting from scratch with it. One wull be USAF and the other USN.
Sorry the pics have come out in reverse order.

all the best.

Greg.

Good luck!

I've always been a bit of a fan of the Skyraider, though I prefer the single-seater versions.

Sorry guys. A dnf from me I'm afraid. Here's a pic where they stood at the finish gate.
There are a few of the other parts painted but nothing worth showing.

All the best.
