Thanks, Splash and OT. I hope to get back to this later today. Research says Swifts had huge underwing serials (36") but they look way too big mocked up on the model so I'm going smaller.

Started decals last night. The Swift underwing serials overlapped the undercart doors a bit. So the homemade undercart doors were tacked on with blue tac, then the homemade serials applied and left overnight. This morning I sliced along the edge of the doors and removed them. Fortunately, it worked and slivers of the serials stayed on the edges of the doors!!! I just put solvent on them all to ensure the edges are well bonded down.



Hopefully more decalling when the solvent on these has dried.

I am so glad that this Swift did not need the camo under the wing leading edges. Whoever came up with that scheme for RAF and RN aircraft in the 50s and 60s was not a modeller!!!!

Impressive work, it is looking really good.

The serials are homemade decals to depict WK275 as displayed in the Vulcan to the Sky hanger. As she is freshly restored, she is very glossy so I brushed on a coat of Microscale Gloss. My initial airbrushed coat was not shiny enough. Thankfully her restorers did not restore the white sealing strip where the canopy is fitted into the frame!!!

The canopy is a bit obscure but that's just as well as there's not much in there to see and the nosewheel leg is a mm or so too tall and leans forward a tad but I'd only mess things up if I broke it off and reset it so: I'm declaring her finished.













Not a kit I can recommend but I rather enjoyed it and I think mine looks a bit better than the one on Merlin's boxtop!

Wow, I would have needed at least 3 months, to do such a challenging kit! I´m impressed.

Well done David you got something from a kit that was noticeably less than the sum of its parts.

The Swift looks great.
