Decided to join the figure fun with a few 1/72 German tank crew figures. First up, are a couple of figures from Orion models in a relaxed position.
Image

Next up, are a pair of 1/72 Panzer crewmen from Scale 75. These are REALLY nicely done in resin. Unfortunately, the one with the radio had his headphones break in transit, so I had to fix those with a little bit of wire.
Image

I'm hoping to paint them in the style of their packaging artwork.

I managed to get the base coats on the Orion figures and now it's on to the Scale 75 figures.

Nice. Perhaps it's me but why does the word 'Tank' or 'Tankers' make you look twice to make sure what it says!?.

Wow. The level of detail on those figures wouldn't be out of place in 1/35 scale. In 1/72 it's a delight. Looking forward to the paintwork.

These look like really nice figures, and you are doing them the usual kickass justice.

Those figures are very nicely detailed for 1/72.

Well, they are a bunch of Nazis, so you're not far off. ;-)

The resin Scale75 ones are really fantastic. Thanks!

Scale75 offers these in 35th, so I guess I'll need to get some of those too.

The Scale75 ones are fantastic, the Orion ones are good, but hard to clean and not as detailed.

I got a few hours last night, and a few more this morning, to do some painting on my Panzer crew. So much time, that I was able to finish them.

I got the base coats onto the 2 officers.

Then started the camo patterns, modeled after the packaging's artwork.

I'm pretty happy with the finished result, but not so much with the map reader's jacket. I've got a second set of these two, so I'll try something different the next time I paint them.

The other two crew members, were a little more straight forward.

I expected good details from the 2 Scale75 officers, based on what I know of their other figures, and they didn't let down. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Orion figures, but was pleasantly surprised.

Now, I just need to get a base to put them on....which is currently in the works and nearly ready for it's crew.

I cannot even see that level of detail, much less paint it -- well done !

That's why I have all those optics lying around these days  Seems like Miguelito (still) has better eyes than either of us. From the photos, these figures could still pass for several scales larger. Well done indeed.

Seriously impressive level of detail for 1/72 and you've certainly done them justice with your painting.

Me either. It took a set of 3x "cheater" reading glasses, and 3.5x optivisor to get this job done. I also got a very nice set of new brushes for Christmas and they really hold paint well. Thanks!

I wish! Without some visual aids, I can't see anything up close. Also, regular up close photos help a lot too!

Thanks! Great figures, with new nice brushes, really make a difference.

I've posted completion photos with the completed backdrop for the figures in the completed gallery.

Apparently minor things like this can really make a difference. My choice of brushes is all too often determined by what happens to be on sale when I need some. Do your new brushes carry a recognisable brand you could tell us about?

I had to go back twice to make sure I'd read the scale correctly! Awesome work!
