Ratch's 1/35 German Officer ***FINISHED***

This is a "get your feet wet" GB for figures and busts for those who have been reluctant to try or want to expand their skills. Any era, any scale, any subject -- even supporting vehicles/equipment are allowed, say in a diorama/vignette.
This GB runs from 1st January to 11th February and your host is rob_van_riel.

Ratch's 1/35 German Officer ***FINISHED***

I've decided to look at all the spare 1/35 figure parts I've acquired to see if anything can be made from them

Not a lot as it happens

A puzzlingly limited catch, with all those bits lying around. Are the various body parts somehow incompatible, or is lack of equipment for the figures the limiting factor?

Still, it looks like you've got an interesting pair lined up.

I appear to have some German legs but no bodies that fit them, just a couple of (possibly) British uniforms, a few US style trousers but no torsos and what are probably Russian torsos but I cannot find references for. There are lots of tank driver style heads. Its a right hotch-potch

Hmmm, not a whole lot to be done with that indeed, unless you want to engage in very serious conversions. Still, spares bins are patient, you'll find some use for them at some point.

I've selected a dog from Tamiya's 35128 Livestock Set, a MiniArt piece of railing and some cobbles/setts from spares

Just a few little bits to do. I've found some Verlinden etched brass insignia that I may add (if I can find something not too ostentatious), and there's some detail painting to do.

Very interesting indeed. He definitely has a sniff or is that a whiff of both Russian and German about him. I would define him as a Gersian :fuhrer:

Nice work Ratch, that’s excellent work on the dog, very effective colouring.

Very nice, especially for a spares guy.
