iggie's French Figures ***finished***
At last! I have commenced battle with my entry for the Figures GB; this is the Masterbox 'France 1944' set in 1/35 scale. There are two bonus figures included with the cart sprue, which I may start with first, and then tackle the soldiers time permitting
assembly and painting of the farm cart has begun!

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: iggie's French Figures
I've just glued a horse together!
And the cart is pretty much done and the major painting complete; I drew grain lines onto the bare plastic, and then applied two coats of Revell Wood brown over it. The metal work had been picked out in Anthracite

I agree with Nigel
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: iggie's French Figures
Cheers!
Moving on with the figures now
I've kept the heads separate for the moment; I used Humbrol flesh heavily mixed with white
One horse will be white, mottled with some light grey dabbed on with a sponge. So far just the white has been done, deliberately leaving a patchy coverage
And the second horse will be brown.....

Re: iggie's French Figures
Terrific work on this, Iggie. It looks like a great set. The airborne figures look like they'd be really useful for converting for other dioramas.

The parts in this kit seem really useful for splitting up and using in a variety of situations.

Re: iggie's French Figures
The set is very much open to netting split for various different uses, and the airborne troops could easily be walking alongside a tank or lorry..... useful set to have for afv modellers.
More progress on the figure front. I'm firmly into uncharted territory for me now and winging it totally!
Turns out Lord Lucan was on France back then....

It's looking good so far, the only thing I'd suggest is that the clothes are a bit glossy. Given that the civvies probably have been in hand me downs and repaired clobber for 4 years the more matt-er and battered the better would be my mantra.

I have glossed them ready for a wash to grubby them up a bit, and then some dry brushing and a matt varnishPurplethistle wrote: It's looking good so far, the only thing I'd suggest is that the clothes are a bit glossy.
