iggie's French Figures ***finished***

This is a "get your feet wet" GB for figures and busts for those who have been reluctant to try or want to expand their skills. Any era, any scale, any subject -- even supporting vehicles/equipment are allowed, say in a diorama/vignette.
This GB runs from 1st January to 11th February and your host is rob_van_riel.

Don't you dare! :-D

My fault; winging it as I am, I should still have posted my intentions (which are pretty much the same as I'd do for an airy-plane  ) to remove doubt and allow for corrective advice!
Best wishes

Were they the horses in Steptoe?
They were indeed. Infact both horses appeared at different times.

In the episode "A death in the Family" Hercules died and was replaced with a horse that was pregnant, and it and its baby went through a string of names, Delilia and Samson, or Samson was the name given to the baby

As others have remarked earlier (I effectively lost most of the weekend, so I'm a bit behind..), the cart looks great. The figures also look good, but I hope you'll take it as constructive criticism when I say the girl has very bright hair, and looks a bit bug-eyed. If you feel up to it, you could still fix this by bringing the eyelids in a bit more, until all the white above and below the irises is covered. A bit like this: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=378&t=16314&start=25;

Thanks guys :)

I did a little work on the girl's eyes and may still re-paint her hair to tone it down a bit. I am NOT doing eyelashes :ha:
This is where we are as of last night

Well done, Iggie. That looks amazing!

The extra bit of work made all the difference. The old man's glare from under that hat is scary

Cheers chaps!
The build and painting are pretty much done. I need to build a bar now and then glue everything into place.

Cheers Mark

After a lot of swearing and very little patience, I managed to get the horses rigged (or whatever one does with the nasty things) and the whole lot glued down to a suitable base. It was like knitting fog
Next up is to add some scenic stuff to make the base look a bit better

You're a natural with dios Iggie, I don't know why you don't do more?
I can't help chuckling at the farmers resemblance to Victor from Still Game, though. I keep expecting a typically pithy Victor comment like, "Liberation is it? it took you's long enough!"

Although I have no idea what 'still game' is, I can see the resemblance!
