Not a lot more worth taking photos of yet ...

It also seems to be a day when nobody is on the forum too, as there has only been one new post I can see on the entire forum in since I made the previous update this morning

It is standing up on its own and the bridge track bits are now on.

Still to go on are Franz and Heinrick, and a few more fiddly bits.

But next are the decals which I do not have a lot of faith over either.

I’m still here Chris to give you support :-D

I have just had similar problems with the tracks on my Crab Sherman I can see why Airfix used the one piece method when they released their Cromwell Tank.

Your build is coming along great.

THanks ... Good to know someone is following along

The only new news is that the decals have pretty much disolved in water

I was mindful the other day as to whether they would be any good, but never the less, still didn't take the time to get any spares lined up just in case .. so I have spent most of last hour locating the box my spares are in, and scratting round to find anything suitable. I have an assortment that were leftover from various matchbox builds and revell 1/72 vehicles that I shall cobble from.

Back onto that now

I have been lurking and joining when I can. Yesterday my middle daughter had a local sled dog race. So check in's were limited. You are making excellent progress.

Daughter placed 3rd out of 18 mushers. Distance was 27 miles.

Still here Chris! Good progress but bad news on the decals!
Best wishes

We've got visitors staying with us this weekend so my time on the forum has been quite limited. This sounds like quite a tough build for a blitz, Chris but it is coming together rather well. With classic military vehicle kits I have found that, almost without the exception, the worst element is the tracks with the decals coming a close second. In recent years I've used two-part epoxy resin glue to successfully attach recalcitrant tracks in both braille scale and 1/35th. My sewing "skills" are definitely not up to the job!!

Good to hear from you all and Iggie and Shaun - family can interrupt. Jeff - Dog Sledging sounds fun. Not something I have tried

I have got some decals on - not sure what they are for - other than that they are German 1/72 scale ...

I now have to deal with household crisis but intend to get the final tartingup done and some finish pictures in next hour or so ...

I can't quite make out the divisional marking, Chris but it looks similar to that of the Afrika Korps - a swastika in a palm tree (not to be confused with a partridge in a pear tree, but I digress). I'm not 100% certain these vehicles served in North Africa and would hazard a guess that most served on the Western and Eastern fronts. Please feel free to ignore my ramblings if they are getting in the way as I'm thinking aloud and could be miles off the mark!

Oh well  .. whatever markings it has got now it is keeping. I doubt given the quality of the kit and my rush job on it, that I will be doing much with it, other than at some point in future possibly cannibalising bits from it for a couple of future small scale projects ... anyhow, here are the final photos for now. I have added a bit of rust and general grime wash and an aerial from a small piece of thin wire. In better light another day, I will tidy up some of the grime and rust.

Shaun - If you do know that I have got it totally wrong with the markings, I can always remove the symbol thing and paint over it!

I am calling this done and admitting that it fought against me rather well at times. I will in better light conditions another day, just tidy up the rust and grimy areas

Nice work on the rust Chris. What technique do you use?

I have a bottle of stuff from modelmates range. I have a series of bottles of their products oil, sand, mud etc. which are all water soluable. There are umpteen firms with ranges of this stuff, but that Modelmates range, is just one that I seem to have managed to get to work for me.
