Jeff's Hurricane Blitz***finished***

Marking my spot forthe Blitz. My theme of "Fly by Night" is based on the subject. The Hobbycraft Hawker Hurricane IIc.

Hasegawa and Airfix have better versions but the Hobbycraft kit is still fairly nice and when located, cheap.

Box Art. What is not to like about this image.

And a terrific source for weathering ideas.

Innards:

Had the kit for awhile but it is still sealed in the polybags.

Decals:

Two RAF types and a French subject. Plus extra stuff for a MS406. From experience the decals are thin, strong and will work fine. Another plus.

So the idea is a kit that will fit well, has few parts and overall one color.

Google images has several good wartime color pictures of BE500 LK*A.

So if the stars continue to align, early next week I will begin.

Excellent choice, Jeff. The Hurricane looks very mean and moody in the black intruder scheme 8-) Do I also spy parts on the sprues to make a Mk IID tank buster armed with underwing 40mm Vickers 'S' guns?

That is correct. The kit is complete for just about any version. I may be using the long range tanks on mine.

Very smart. I do like some of these Hobbycraft kits - their Buchon is a particular favourite!

You are so right Daren. The Messerschmitt series offered huge bang for the buck.

Well tomorrow is my target date for the Hurri’

When you say two hours from now, do yo mean two hours from now or two hours from when I first read the message because my coffee has gone cold :-D

I just spotted the kit is 1/48 that’s a brave move on a Blitz.

I’m now even keener to watch the build.

OK. A little bump in the road but under way. Actually started at 0609 EST But now cutting and gluing.

The instructions actually begin with air screw assembly but as usual I will be skipping around doing the halves first.
