Blitzbau House *** Finished ***

Excellent progress. Carb up and keep well hydrated as it will steady the hands and nerves for the final push to completion. My tip for the top is don't go bothering a sports nutritionist on a Saturday afternoon but try your local publican instead, usually they will be very keen and willing to help and will do so in a more relaxed atmosphere too - no boring lectures on "taking it seriously", "winning" or "personal best performance".

The Yak is very shiny red now.



I am currently painting the framework on the canopy.

Rob is racing ahead with the Spitfire.



He is currently applying decals.

We are also watching some big blokes playing with a funny shaped ball!

No worries, Rob will over come the issue I'm sure.

In fact here he is painting on the tail stripes.



I have masked off the Moose for white wingtip painting and attached the engine cowl.



Also fitted the prop and started on the U\C.



I'm trying not to think about the decals but I can't put it off much longer.
Looks like I might actually make it this Blitzbau.

After a fantastic save (Unbelievable Jeff!) Spaceowl has rescued his build with some superb painting so can declare his Blitz build done.





My day just went south. As feared the arrow flash decals on the Yak broke into six pieces but I managed to get them on.
I'll touch them up later.


When I did the other side I cut it into three parts and it worked out ok.
So Whilst waiting for the paint to dry and decals to settle down I attached the U\C and the Moose stands.



I broke the pitot tube off too.

Man, I've missed an afternoon of excitement in the Blitzbau House (soz, I was actually doing some modelling for once ). After that power packed lunch of carbs and re-hydrating fluid (told you the publican would be all too pleased to help ) I can see you boys have really done the business. What a save of the Spitfire by Mr Owl and he's managed a great finish. Moose is almost there OT and, despite the best efforts of its own decals to throw a spanner in the works, is looking excellent. A great fun blitz featuring clear pics, blurred pics, food pics, pub pics, disasters and miraculous recoveries - what more could we audience members ask for?

It was a pleasure. Apart from the decals shattering, that was more of an annoyance.
