Hi guys, I plan to build a 1/72 Churchill tank but plan on a scratch conversion to a 3 inch Gun Carriage.

To simplify the build I’m using the 1/72 scale “Plastic Soldier” Churchill as the part count is low, this will give me more time on the conversion.

I plan on starting on Saturday the 3rd some time in the evening.

Sounds ambitious but an interesting project. 8-)

Interesting subject, Alan and is an ambitious sounding blitz to be sure. Best of British!

Ok time to start 19:00 GMT 24hour straight run.

First a quick plate of sausages and chips from my local chippy.

Next the standard photo of the kit

And an idea of what I intended it to finish up as.

Whoa! That's a very interesting tank. Looking forward to some of your handy scratch work.

Great Blitz food. Good luck.

These kits just fly together, after only eight parts I’m at this stage.

The detail in such basic kits must be commended

The detailed hatches at the front are to good to just cover up so I’m going to cut them off for spares, so it’s out of the living room into my work bench that’s freezing.

Very nice! I've built a few of those war gaming type tanks in the past, and I'm always impressed with the level of detail.

It looks to be a nicely detailed kit considering the low parts count.

One hour into the build and the base is assembled and the front hatches removed.

This is going to look very different.

PS. Now you are sure THIS one has the right shaped escape hatch, aren't you? :-).

Sorry. Couldn't resist.
