Wow, great idea for producing a tapered barrel. I think I will file that for future use

A bit of research has shown that the 3in 76mm guns used on these were from surplus RN anti aircraft guns (for surplus read out of date)

I tried to make the side boxes out of thin card and get in a right mess, so I cut out four thick rectangle pieces and laminated them for each side box then sanded them to size.

Research says that by the time these came out their role had been taken by vehicles fitted with the 17pounder gun like the Archer that had better speed but less armour, some of the Gun Carriers had their 3in gun removed and fitted with up to 50 Bangalore tubes for mine clearance.

I have seen models made with a two tone colour scheme but I’m sticking with a simple dark green all over

After a first coat of dark green I was not happy with the tops of the side boxes, so I have added a thin sheet of plastic and added hinges.

I really do admire your modelling skills, your work is always fun to watch.
By no means am I a Churchill expert, but I am certainly surprised at how many variants were put onto that chassis. Even my meager tank stash holds a variant that used the Sherman tank barrel, called a Churchill NA75. It seems one could spend their modelling life building Churchills.
Hats off to you. Well done, indeed.

I have started to stockpile Churchill kits because like Spitfires you can never have to many.

Once you start to look at all the Churchill funnies it becomes a great subject to build as they are all so different, some are just different barrels or turrets others are bridging equipment or gap breaching systems even flame thrower versions.

This is turning into something really special Splash and hats off to you for doing a conversion as a Blitzbau build.

Oh yes, that does look good with some paint on. There are certainly plenty of interesting Churchill variants to keep an armour modeller happy for quite some time!

I’m calling this one done.

It need more weathering and the tank commander painting but I have some work to catch up on.
