Sorry to hear that, Daren. The flu has had a large number of victims this season. Get well soon!

Right, so the first available date for this Blitz is......

VALENTINE'S DAY.

Yep, show the woman that you love her by building a plastic Spitfire! :-D

Fun and games to commence approx. 3pm.

So, after a wee delay, I got to work.....
Image

The usual shot of the kit bits....
Image

The first thing to get assembled was the seat...
Image

Then some painting of the innards followed....
Image

Then the wings were assembled....
Image

...and the fuselage.

The black bits were painted next....

I painted both sets of wheels, as I haven't decided yet whether to do it with the gear down.

I imagine it'll start to resemble a Spitfire before teatime!

Nice one. At this rate you will have this done by 7pm and then be able to take your better half out for a pint followed by something really romantic like a greasy kebab or a fish supper, thereby killing two birds with one stone. Don't bother thanking me for passing on that great strategy, it's all part of the service.

You were doing so well with "able to take your better half out for something really romantic" and then you ruined it! :-D

Good start Daren; it looks the part already! 8-)

So, after a dinner break, I started slinging paint around. First one wing....

....then the other.

I'll tidy up the join when I come to do the next coat.

Still haven't decided on the wheels-up/wheels-down option, though!

I need to pop out for a couple of hours, but I'll be back on the model when I return!
