Airfix say the crab Sherman is 1/72 when we all know it’s smaller probably less that 1/76.

Wow. Am I missing a page here Alan. Impressive build. And a real timepiece there.

The Airfix Sherman does look quite a bit smaller. Great job so far.

The Airfix kit is quite fiddly due to the six parts to each set of wheels.

The track on the Plastic Soldier kit is a brilliant idea, only two parts per side and it slides straight on and includes sag at the top.

Thank you for posting the comparison, Splash. I'm wondering if the Plastic Soldier kit is the one with 3 complete tank sprues, where you can build either an M4A4 or the Firefly Vc?

Yes they come in boxes of three tanks and each kit can be built as a M4A4 Flyfire VCard or M4A4 75mm (dry)

The Tulip was simply an RP hung of the side of the turret so I’m using some spare RP’s off an old Matchbox/Revell Swardfish a/c

I’m using brass rod to give the launchers a bit of strength and might add plastic strips on top.

I’m starting to like these PS kits as you say the detail is crisp and you get lots of choices.

Just stopped for lunch, my wife left me some Stovies, a Scottish recipe consisting of potato, corned beef and unions.

I’m not impressed with the Crap kit, Airfix have represented the flail chains as straight rods of plastic that look totally unrealistic these all need taking off and replaced with chain to show the tank in the stationary position.

As I don’t have any chains I’m going to stop work on the Crab and carry on with the Tulip.

You might consider raiding the wife's jewelry box for some small chain.
However, if you choose that route, I strongly recommend a clandestine stealth action to retrieve the chain.

I don’t know if the gold chain will take the paint :-D

Cheers Chris I will look into that.

I’m calling the Tulip finished and the Crab a DNF as I’m off out in 15 minutes and don’t think I will have any bench time tomorrow :???:
