*DNF* - Beany's Buccaneer - well, actually it's a Corsair II

Revell 1/32 Royal Navy Corsair II

I'll call it a 13:00 start as part have already been cut from the runners. This kit cost me £12.00 in the kit swap at Telford last November.

I shall be using mostly Tamiya acrylics for the fast drying times for spraying and Revell Aquas for hand brushing the detail for the same reason.





A bit of vintage Motown on the turntable to ease me into the build - The Commodores and Flying High.
I'll break out the Prog Rock later when things start to get more intense!!




Lots of gluing to do first probably, then a couple of hours break to watch the Calcutta Cup this afternoon.

Over ambitious is still my middle name but I reckon the simplicity of this kit and the relatively low parts count should make it a viable Blitzbau so wish me luck!

15:00 Update
Engine halves glued and painted.
Under carriage and wheel started, pilot halves glued.
Interiors hand painted Revell Aqua 360 Fern Green for US Willow Green (Interior Green)







Entertainment so far has been YES, Yessongs Volume 1 Side 1 on vinyl, the Joe Walsh, You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind on CD.


A break for lunch and a bit of rugby now.

17:00 Update

Doesn't look like much progress but I've been flat out mixing paint and tidying up flash and seam lines etc. before painting.

The pilot has had dark blue undercoat for the trousers, black boots and brown undercoat for his leather jacket. There will be dry brushed with lighter colours.

The exhaust pipes have had dark brown mottled over with leather brown to look rusty - still wet at the moment so should dry to look more matt.

Wheels have had Anthracite applied.





Rugby now - England v Scotland, so back in a couple hours or so.

Off to a great start, Al but I have to say that is an odd looking Hurricane and it doesn't look at all like either the desert or BoB version (Whilst I've got my plane spotters anorak on, I thought the Corsair II is a jet?) You've had some quality prog on too. Far out, man.

As for the earlier photos ..the green is set off well on that pink background. And with the white bits in middle of image it looks good and artistic.

19:30 Update (sorry, forgot to include the tablet with the time on!)

Decal applied to instrument panel.
Joystick mounted in cockpit tub - second coat of paint added.
Canopy dipped in Klear and also brushed onto the aging decal sheet, which will get at least one more coat.
Second coat of interior green to everything else.
