Paul's Swiss Miss - 1/72 Hunter T.68

Post by PaulBradley »

I'm in with the Revell 1/72 F.6 kit, but using the PJ Production T.7/68 conversion set. Photos of bits and kits to follow. :)

Various odds and sods I'v ecollected over the years that may or may not be useful. I'll probably only use the Quickboost exhaust and fairing, as it is applicable to the Swiss T.68.

Image

Various decals I've accumulated. I will probably use the Swiss roundels and stencilling, as they are better than the ones PJ provides.

And the lovely PJ resin bits. Very comprehensive. A simple cut and fit for the new forward fuselage. Complete twin tub interior. The rear fuselage fairing/exhaust is only applicable for standard T.7/8 trainers - the Swiss used the big bore Avon on their two-seaters, hence the Quickboost part.

This was a possibility for me too but no time for such an in depth build though this does get you the best 1/72 twin seat.

The Revell kit is a nice one, I hope they re-issue it again as they are getting hard and expensive to buy.

I look forward to watching this build.

Certainly does! Far better than the very poor Matchbox kit.

Cheers, Alan! And the good news is that Revell are indeed re-releasing that kit this year!

This is going to be a beauty. I have a funny feeling that you are not short of info on Hawkers finest Paul.

Great to see a build from you in this GB, Paul and this looks like it will be an education in how to build a proper good two-seat Hunter. I'm confident even if you're not :ha:
