Wheels and Wings in Toronto, Ontario Canada

Recommendations of all those increasingly rare LMS's in a town near you, so the rest of us can find them and marvel! Also, the places near you where blokes approach you, furtively clutching the latest SAMI and smelling of resin.

Wheels and Wings in Toronto, Ontario Canada

Post by bigfiver69 »

Toronto used to be a modeler's dream with many great, great shops that sold the very latest of everything, and others that had long stores of older kits.

As recently as 6 or 7 years ago, there was Collector's Lane out in Scarborough, with an incredible range of out of Production kits. There was Keith's Hobbies at Yonge and Sheppard, which was a great, old-school shop with a wide selection. North of the city was Northstar Hobbies, still in existence, but not as large or as well-stocked as it once was.

The remaining gem, however, is Wheels and Wings up on Danforth Avenue. It has been around a long time, but the newer location is larger and the selection of kits is breathtaking.

Aside from a fine selection of newer kits, the owner still buys collections and as a result, many great old gems may still be found. I try and check it out every few months, to see what has come in.

As far as disoclosure goes, I don't know the owners or anything like that - just like the store a lot because it always has interesting stuff, both older and up to date.
Currently on the bench: Airfix Gladiator and AModel Fury.
