This is the review site hosted by Fortune City and, provided your pop-up stopper was up to date, it was a good place to visit.
FortuneCity used to be a free hosting service, but are now charging. As a consequence, SMAKR is no longer there.
However, I did find this;

If you have SMAKR in your favourites...

Thanks Merlin , This is becoming a worrying trend with the web . Anything that can make money in these cash strapped times. How long before all sites are charging us in addition to the monthly Internet charge ?

At the moment you can still look at content archived by the "Internet Archive Wayback machine" site http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http:/ ... 1/home.htm
It's a handy site when you are looking for old disappeared sites, front page here: http://archive.org/web/web.php
Cheers

SMAKR - not too far away from being up and running again - keep an eye out for it over the next couple of months - just taking time effort and a few $$ to properly get up and running again. Or you can email me and get added to a list to be advised when site up again. But it is a little way away yet, lots of things have impacted this year.
Yes I spat the dummy when Fortunecity literally went from free web hosting with adverts to an exorbitant paid service overnight, still with adverts! There was no warning - I used a backdoor to remove what I could. As many have mentioned in other forums, they also instigated pop up adverts that installed spyware on the computer - nothing SMAKR had anything to do with or could control.
We'll get things up soon, and thanks for patience and hope to see you return when its up again!
Plenty more Airfix stuff to hit the pages.

Hi Mark and thankyou for the personal update.
We were feeling a similar angst with our old host and chose to move house. Steve 'flakmonkey' is our Web Guru and his work and support has been outstanding. You could do much worse than giving him a PM for a natter. If you need to throw money at someone, best do it with someone who knows what they're doing.
Regards,
Bruce
