CBK SIG at Farnborough ModelFest Sat. 24th September 2016??

What makes a British kit a Classic? What Classic kit is really British? What is the SIG all about and what goes on...from initial musings, to full on campaigning. It'll all be here, interspersed with talk of Texan Bars, Alias Smith & Jones and The Flashing Blade, Footy Cards and Bath Night, before School.

CBK SIG at Farnborough ModelFest Sat. 24th September 2016??

Post by beany »

I have now had confirmation of the 4 tables I booked for this show, with the intention to have two each for CBK SIG and the Revell Modelling SIG.

However, as I am contributing very little to the CBK SIG display this year and will be concentrating my efforts on the Revell table, I need to know if anyone else is prepared to bring anything for the CBK table and to 'man' it for a while, otherwise I'll either offer two of the tables back or will stretch out the Revell SIG and offer the overflow to Cold War or Airfix Modelling SIG etc. (my preferred option).

Please let me know here is you are able to support the CBK SIG at this show. (The show falls on my 56th birthday so there may be cake(s) involved!)

I will be bringing items to handover forever for your Revell sig; and planning on doing likewise with items for Daz on CW tables, so I will have a few bits for the CBK table but as to whatever I bring, it won't be items I am taking to Telford for this years CBK theme.

Sorry mate. Didn't see this thread until now. I'll be bringing some CBK models with me but I don't know if I'll be able to man the table as I'll be looking after the Cold War display. Maybe we can do it between us?

Darryl and Tom, thanks for the replies. I'm sure between us all we can man what needs to be manned, discuss what needs to be discussed, and possibly, more importantly, spend what needs to be spent... ;-)
Look forward to seeing you guys there.

Unfortunately it's looking unlikely that I'll be able to make this show after all. An important project in work requires me to be in Germany at the time and I'm not sure I'll be free to fly home for the weekend. It's particularly galling as I've put a great deal of effort into getting a display table for the Cold War SIG :frown:

Al,

I have finally achieved domestic clearance to go to Farnborough this year. Do you need me to bring anything?

Both CBK and Revell SIG tables will be a little light I think unless others can help out - I'm now in the unfortunate position of leaving the show at 5pm then driving to Didcot - food and power nap at the hotel then do a 12 hours night shift in the Signalling Centre there, so will be limited to what I can fit into the works car I will have. Any kits you can bring for either table will be appreciated Martin.

Cheers
Al.

We have no theme, as far as I know, and it a case of just displaying whatever we have and spreading it round - so I will say - bring as much as you like, am sure we can make use and display them all, and if necessary some of my stuff can stay in the car for a change as its done most of the same shows for past couple years and something new and fresh from you would be great.
