Hi everyone, thanks for all the suggestions so far, some really good ones. I think the key to this is sets for kits that have not been completely superseded, so examples like the HS.125 nose and bits for Stranraer etc are along the lines I was hoping for, but doing something for a kit like the Frog/Hasegawa Lightning F.6 for example probably would not be worthwhile with the new Airfix kit available. Of course some new kits don't always supersede old ones, and short run kits have a limited availability life so although they may be better they might not be around long.

A set to better detail the Airfix SAM 2 Guideline kit. Missile detail and stencilling, tractor and trailer detail, and also the launcher.

Colin,

How about some updated engines for the Mbx HS125-600. I've seen a few people lamenting the lack of those and it's still the only HS125 kit around, I think.

Another thought - turbine engines to make the Islander BN 2T or Army variants.

An idea I have just had. How about the long range tank for the Tiger force Lancaster? Also a pair of jets and decal set for an engine test bed Lanc?
Also S&M's Viscount though not an old kit is readily available. Various lumps and bumps for the RAF/A&AEE versions would be useful.

All the best.

Greg

Replacement engines for the new Revell Halifax kits. They are neatly detailed, but the shape is too square.

A decent Tallboy and Grand Slam in 1/72nd would be useful.

There are actually, many items required for the older kits. Some internal Cockpit sets for FROG, Airfix and Matchbox kits. I had suggested to Matchbox, that they used the blank patch on the rear of the boxes, left when the plastic window was scrapped, to print a Cockpit Placard. This could be folded into the space and some resin parts added.

I believe there are replacement engines for the Halibag.

Cockpit/interior detail sets for the Matchbox HP Heyford, AW Siskin and Fairey Seafox would be useful. And how about some upgrades for the Mbx F-86A (still the only I'M kit of this version).

Hi Colin,

Thanks for asking. I was wracking my brains for subjects within my preferred WWII area of interest. The rub is, most of the subjects have been long superseded.

However, what about kits that have been superseded but are basically sound and their replacements are eeither expensive or like hens' teeth? (I'm thinking of you, Hasegawa!)

So, what about USN types like the Airfix Dauntless: wheels, engine, cowling(s) for the -3 and -5, canopy, interior; the Airfix TBM-3 and FROG Avenger. Cowlings (different between the 2), engines, wheels, canopy, cockpits. Oh, and what about the bulged side windows for an FAA machine; Airfix Devastator: been replaced by a Valom kit, but the latter is expensive, limited run and has accuracy issues).

Regards

Martin

You might have a long wait; Colin was last on here in 2017 (although that's not too say he doesn't look in without being logged in).
Perhaps drop him an email via his website?
