WWI Male Tank MIA: located

What makes a British kit a Classic? What Classic kit is really British? What is the SIG all about and what goes on...from initial musings, to full on campaigning. It'll all be here, interspersed with talk of Texan Bars, Alias Smith & Jones and The Flashing Blade, Footy Cards and Bath Night, before School.

WWI Male Tank MIA: located

Post by JamesPerrin »

I believe my WWI Airfix Male Tank went to Telford for SMW, I got my models back after the Huddersfield show and then several weeks before they were unboxed when I realised that this model was missing. I'd really like to get it back as it forms part of my British tank collection. IT wasn't on the table at Huddersfield so I assume it accidentally went into someone else's box at SMW. I got returned another modeller's aeroplane!

I cannot offer any more help other than ask: Can you see it on the table in any of the images of the Telford display? As you were not there, does whoever received models on your behalf and took ownership of what you packed and sent know that they put it out?

I took items up for someone and I went through them with the member before they left my home so we were sure of what I too responsibility of, for the weekend.

Post an image of what you got back it might help jolt someone's memory. As they will then see their missing plane

sorry I know who the plane belongs to and have been in contact with them - it was a just "these things happen" comment.

I unboxed a while ago, James and it's not with me. I've taken other members' builds to SMW and Hudds on more than one occasion and worried more about their stuff than my own! Hopefully it didn't get lifted from the SMW table by some light fingered WW I tank enthusiast - alas it wouldn't be the only theft from the show last year

Hi James.
Your model was in with a small amount of kits I was handed for safekeeping. It is safe and sound in my model loft. Do you want it posting to you?

All the best.

Will do. I meant models and not kits of course. I will go into the loft some time and list all built models I have that belong to CBK and Cold War members but here is what I remember.

Matchbox Buccaneer ( Paul Bradley?)
Male Tank (James P)
Airfix Concorde (Donated to CBK)
Matchbox JU87 (?)
Matchbox Canberra (?)

There are others which I will list later)

All the best.
