Classic Plastic section in SAMI

What makes a British kit a Classic? What Classic kit is really British? What is the SIG all about and what goes on...from initial musings, to full on campaigning. It'll all be here, interspersed with talk of Texan Bars, Alias Smith & Jones and The Flashing Blade, Footy Cards and Bath Night, before School.

Hi, forgive me if I missed it elsewhere, is the Classic Plastic column in SAMI still going, or has it finished now?

Thanks.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for the interest! I just submitted my last CP to David a couple of weeks ago, so that will be in the April issue. While there's been lots of interest expressed in the column over the years, submissions had dwindled to almost nothing, and I simply don't have the time to build enough models myself to keep it going. So I thought it was time to finally wrap it up. It's been fun, but all good things.....

Cheers!

Paul

Thanks for your efforts, Paul.

One more reason for me not to buy SAMI any more, I'm afraid.

Regards

Thanks for letting me know Paul and your hard work keeping it going till now, I think SAMI will be poorer without it.

Just saw the final article yesterday. A sad day - but understandable.

Did the editor have any input into the decision?

Cheers, Eric. I talked with David at Telford; the decision was all mine.

That's good to know. I was wondering if the new editor wasn't keen on builds of older kits.

I'd previously seen your article in Scale Aircraft Modelling on the RS Cierva C30 and knew that changes were afoot.
