RAF Hendon - Museum Launches Appeal To Airfix Fans

What makes a British kit a Classic? What Classic kit is really British? What is the SIG all about and what goes on...from initial musings, to full on campaigning. It'll all be here, interspersed with talk of Texan Bars, Alias Smith & Jones and The Flashing Blade, Footy Cards and Bath Night, before School.

RAF Hendon - Museum Launches Appeal To Airfix Fans

Post by beany »

After our final outing to Farnborough Modelfest with the display, I sent Darrell Burge (Airfix Marketing Manager) an email to touch base after he had expressed an interest in using our 2011 Box Art display at Telford last year. Here is an extract of his reply to me, which ties in with something else I've only just heard about today -

Yes I’m definitely interested in borrowing these from you please. Since you sent your email I’ve had a meeting with RAF Hendon in regards to a major Airfix art exhibition from June next year. I would like to be able to use these in this exhibition as well if at all possible?

Link to the museum here:
http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/what ... rfix-fans/;

So, unless I hear otherwise chaps, I'm assuming everyone who made an Airfix Box Art subject that is currently with me will have no objection to Darrell taking them off my hands in November for use at Margate and/or the RAF Museum if that becomes the case?

Cheers
Al.

That's great news, even to us who did a non-airplane Matchbox display :grin:

Sorry I seemed to have missed this post.

That's great news but I do wonder if we'll ever see our models again.
